This is general information provided for students and parents trying to research where the best martial art school is and which instructors are right for you. These bios mean nothing only beacuse we're the ones who write them. You must come in and try a class as our guest and only then you can make a decision as to which is the right place for you.

Dale E. Hestermann

Hestermann, D. Sensei is the head master of the Academy. He oversees all teaching and instructor training and also teaches many of the classes within the Academy. He began training in 1974 with Taekwondo, feeling there was something missing he went out and found another art, Kempo Jujutsu. This was a combat art which was night and day different from TKD. This art and it's teachers encourged cross training to compare and enhance skills. Using this method made it easier to understand and see the similarities between all arts, becoming more open minded learning to accept. He is married with two children, two grandchildren and three adopted grandchildren.  

Jordan L. Hestermann

Hestermann, J. Sensei is the director responsible for the inner workings of the school. She is a graduate of De Paul University and is finishing her M.B.A. while starting another business of her own. www.becomingwethepeople.org is a non-profit organization to fight to end poverty. She has been training for 16 years. Her rank is Sandan.

Wyatt L. Smith D.D.S.

Smith, W. Sensei is in charge of the Aikido classes. He has been training in Aikido for over 15 years. His training was at Midwest Aikido Center in Chicago, Il. He has been teaching Aikido at the Academy for 14 years. Smith Sensei is a dentist. His office is located at 5010 Broadway Gary, In. 887-6053. He is married with two kids and one grandchild.

Patrick O'Neill

O`Neill Sensei has been with the Academy 8 years. O`Neill Sensei began his training in 1977 in Shotokan Karate. He has been an electrical engineer since 1976. He has 4 kids ranging from a freshman,2 seniors in H.S., and 1 in college. He is also a part time St. John Policeman. In his spare time he enjoys riding motorcycles, bicycling, and strength training. His rank is Shodan.

Yannick Bushell

Bushell Sensei has been training for 6 years. Bushell Sensei is a mechanic for a local E.M.S. service and very involved with the Academy. He is is now certified in several areas of the automotive field. His rank is Shodan.

Adrian Williams

Williams Sensei has been training in the martial arts for 6 years. He is a blue belt under Jason Fox in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, studies Serak Pentjak Silat and also holds a Black belt in another style of Kempo Jujutsu. Sensei has a private club dojo he runs in the evening offering Kempo Jujutsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Serak Pentjak Silat, and they also have an Aikido program.

Henry Kaszowicz

Kaszowicz Sensei has been with the Academy for 8 years. Kaszowicz Sensei is in the health care profession and going to school part time for accupunture. His rank is Shodan.
